CRM Accelerators Update

Events Management is now available for download. For those of you without a PartnerSource log in try the following link:

I don't have any more dates for you, so we'll all just have to keep our eyes open to see when the rest get posted.

Hey David ,

I have downloaded and installed the Event management Accelerators recently.
I am not very sure where the Event Management portal has to be integrated and how I can view it from CRM.
I have created a campaign with type as "Event" but I am unable to configure the Event Management portal .
Could u give me some suggestions on the same.

Thanks In Advance

CaprisS,

I haven't had the opportunity to install the Event Management Accelerator yet but I have seen a few things on it so I may not have all of the details you want/need but I think I can help a bit.

The Event Management Portal is a webpage that should have been installed and now available under your CRM website (probably in the ISV folder). It is in that ASPX page that you will do your "configuration". While I don't believe there is a wizard or anything set up to help you configure and modify the portal page, you do have the source code and you are able to modify their page however you like. If you choose to modify it using unsupported calls then MS Support won't be able to help you in getting it set up. All of the events that you set up in the system should be displayed one way or another through that custom webpage. That's where I'd go look.

Hi David,
Thanks for your suggestions.
I have deployed the website in the wwwroot folder and I am able to run the Portal site.
But whenever I click on the Events link the Http 401 errors of Crm service pops up.
I have tried debugging the website and also added my server CRmSdk reference but no success.
Any further specifications from your end will be of great help...

Thanks In advance..

CaprisS,

Whenever I get the 401 unauthorized error it is typically due to a setting in IIS. Is it set up like all other custom webpages within your CRM site? Is it set up for anonymous access if you are using IFD? Is it configured for Windows Authentication? Check some of those settings and see if that is where your issue is.

Otherwise the issue would be within the code where the CRM Service is being instantiated. Is there a hardcoded user being used for credentials? Or are default credentials being used? Since this website should be accepting data from non-CRM users it should be set up with a hardcoded username and password.

Check those two areas and see if that's where your problem is.
